In the Vedas............part 2

The Vedas, in summary, were a an instruction manual. What they instructed was how to conduct ritual prayers.

Vedic rituals centered around a sacrificial fire. The belief was, that anything put into the fire would reach god. You chanted the prayers to invoke that god and ask for blessings. There were different prayers for different gods. This fire ritual was known as "Yajna".

To me, the concept was ridiculous. You put stuff like butter, ghee, rice, coconuts and the like into the sacrificial fire, then you invoke god and expect blessings.

In ancient times, animals were sacrified to the fire. There have been indications that at one time even humans were sacrificed to the fire........but for obivious reasons this practice was stopped.

Now here's the interesting part, I believe the priests, the brahmins, knew that these empty rituals were just that, empty and devoid of meaning. They however stood to benefit greatly from these Yajnas, because according to the vedas they were supposed to be given money and gifts at these Yajnas.

The vedas basically said the duty of the brahmins was to perform at these Yajnas and act as priest and be goody goody......and the rest of us had to well be charitable, in short, the non brahmin population had to finance the brahmins. Nice for the brahmins no?

More than just that, if you were to read the Vedas and the upanishads, you would find that there was an overwhelming bias towards this group of people, known as a caste, as brahmins. Historically, they were the ones who could mostly read and write, so do you ever wonder who wrote these wonderful books?

If you didn't work and couldn't fight, how would you protect yourself? My opinion is that the vedas and upanishads, the holiest books of hindusim, are nothing more than works of fiction, written by brahmins and passed on to the rest of the population as written by divine hands.

An example would be where it says, that if you kill a man, you would be reborn once to suffer for the sin of killing in your last life, the concept of karma, but if you kill a brahmin, you would be reborn 10,000 times to pay for your sins in 10,000 lives.

Forget equality, human rights or decency. According to Hinduism, or at least the most important books of hindusim, a brahmin life is worth 10,000 times more than a non brahmin life..........does that sound like something god would write? or does it sound like something a brahmin would write?

Brahmins, are the worlds greatest and most successful parasites.

I do not know if there was anything to hinduism before these parasites contaminated it. Sad.

I didn't come to this conclusion overnight, it took about 4 years of reading and thinking. During this time I also read the holy books of other religions to see if they were the true path. I don't want to offend anyone so I won't talk of my opinion of what the other religions say.

After starting down the road at 19, at 23 I became a an atheist. There is no god.
