Of faulty traffic lights, long assignments and banned commercials

It's been a terrible day, so tiring. Exams around the corner for most of my students, assignments going to be handed in next week, loads more assignments already collected waiting to be graded. I'm tempted to grade using two dice.....the higher the score the higher the grade and vice-versa, don't think I can get away with it.....but belum try belum tau. lol

The only silver lining is that most of my classes will be done by the end of this week. I'm writing now cause I can't sleep at all. :(

My day started out late, hit the snooze button on the alarm, told myself......"another 5 minutes"....you can guess what happened, but it wasn't like I hadn't thought of that.Unlike most people, I have a back up alarm.

The back up alarm didn't work today, because my back up alarm had to attend a wedding early in the morning, doesn't it just figure.......the one day I need her to bang on my door....the woman isn't there.....every other day of the week.....like clockwork...murphy was a wise, wise man.

Anyway the traffic lights were out at the junction near my house, I needed to get to the highway through that junction, to make a long story short.......almost had a massive accident. Totally awake at that point and fuming to boot, the driver and I who almost became closely acquainted started a honking war...naturally because in our minds it was totally the other persons fault.

That was the just 8.35am.

Class, class and more classes.

I got into my morning class at 9am when I should have been in at 8.30am. This class is mostly advanced accounting. Half the syllabus concerns accounting standards, which is assessed by way of theoretical questions. My students in this class are alright, all things considered, with one most unfortunate exception.

Their English is bad to the point of not being able to express themselves coherently in writing. As a result, most of this class didn't do well.

I offered them a bonus assignment, which if they did it, I promised at least a pass for the coursework. The assignment is rather large, they have to summarize the events mentioned in the 1989 song by Billy Joel 'we didn't start the fire'. There are 120 events listed in total, each of my students, and there's about 50 or so, needs to write 150 words on each event, a 100 of those words must be original.

That translates to 18,000 words per assignment. 50 students. Do the math. Pity me, LOTS, LOTS of reading I have to do.

I had good intentions in setting this assignment. Their English would surely improve after that much reading and lets face it, this generations hold on knowledge and world history is tenuous at best and I'm being generous here, so I reckoned this would do them good.

I ignored the fact that they'd have to work their butts off, well maybe the word isn't ignored, god knows they've been complaining, lol, I guess when they were the ones who had to WORK, I didn't mind.

Now I have to read through so much.......arghh.

The thought of that much work.........oh dear god...haha.

With so much to do,I decided to procrastinate, I decided to randomly surf the net.

While on youtube, I had an idea. I used to have a HUMONGOUS collection of banned commercials saved on my old PC, hundreds. I lost this collection along with lots of other cool stuff when my hard drive fried on the old PC.

Youtube now, isn't youtube supposed to have zillions of things so I tried looking for these adverts.............EUREKA found them.

I'm going to put 2 here. There are tons of adverts, but I'm only gonna put 2 here.
.
I would like to mention that these are BANNED commercials, coz they have sex, violence, sick humour in them.........but for all that, they're still hilarious.
I downloaded bout 25 or so videos.

Those of you who are less that 18 years of age and those of you easily offended, please stop reading............but the rest of you degenerates........ READ ON...
