Genting was nice

Chinese new year holidays are almost gone.

Went to Genting with some friends, just to blow off some steam in the casino and hang out where it's windy and cool for a change of pace.

Most of my friends lost money in the casino, one or two really blew out their budget and lost more than they should have, I suppose that's normal, par the course, I came out winning a little, luckily. Gambling is pretty dangerous I suppose, if you have control issues.

Schools going to start next Tuesday, going to a long long grind till May. Need to get going to the gym regularly now.

Back to school

The holidays have ended. I'm back at college, working my butt off, have a bit too many classes this semester.

Have to cope till May I guess, next semester I'm going to try to ensure I don't get overloaded, seriously bad for my quality of life.

I'm supposed to start my big push to get fit on this coming Monday, have to exercise and eat right, need to get in the zone if I'm going to pull off getting to 80kg by my next birthday.

On the other hand, if i do make it, it'll be so sweet collecting money from all the people who bet against me.

Banzai I suppose.

Thor....what a joke

I don't go to too many movies, I like sitting in the 1st row, anathema to most normal people, ergo when I go to the movies I go alone.

This promised to be quite entertaining, since as a boy, I read many stories regarding Norse Mythology. Also, people were saying this was a movie worth watching.

It was a waste of time.

I was robbed, RM13 down the drain, roughly 3 hours of my life I'm never going to get back.

In a nutshell, the movie sucked Egg.

I can't believe Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston actually agreed to act in this movie, they must have lost a bet and have been forced into it.

Thor is a pointless exercise in stupidity.

I know movies aren't real life, I know it's an escape from our mundane, boring and tiresomely repetitive lives.

I accept that in movies, animals will sometimes talk, aliens interact on any number of levels with humans, angels and demons will save and condemn our souls, chucky will cut you up into little pieces and freddy will haunt our dreams and harry potter will save the world from voldemort.

I don't ask that our movies be just like real life.

Thor as a concept is great.

Why it sucks is that the story as a whole is stupid and cheap, it insults our intelligence, well mine anyhow.

1st Reason
Thor in this movie is basically a retarded moron, uncomplicated and can only express 3 emotions, and one at a time at that. I blame the the wooden acting of the pathetic actor playing him.

2nd Reason
The love story is bloody convincing isn't it? What the F? The romance in this story is as potent as a snails erection, and makes as much sense as the One Malaysia email scheme; how on earth or asgaard did they even think writing a romance in the story was a good idea? from the moment Natalie 1st hit him until she hits him again in the hospital parking lot, no real interaction, no attraction but from there till the metallic thingymajiggy hits him, apparently a love rivalling romeo and juliet has been taking place.

3rd Reason
Logic. The story doesn't have any. No emotion either, all the characters are pathetic, Hopkins rightly looked embarrassed during his scenes, the characters were written so weakly that they might as well have used cardboard cutouts rather than real actors.

Lets face it, all they wanted to do is impress with special special effects. This movie wasn't meant for people with brains.

To all those who say that this is a superhero movie and this is all we can expect in terms of quality film making, I say 3 words to you, THE DARK KNIGHT. Watch that movie folks and then tell me that THOR is good.

Don't see this movie, do better things with your time and money.

Kuljeet the Conman

In a nearby college in KL, there exists a near mythical student we shall call Kuljeet.

Mythical because he is in Malaysia as a student from a country that never sends students here or at least to this intrepid college.

He is rarely seen in class, late for every assignment. Intelligent, but totally lazy.

He is a nice guy but a nightmare student.

His real talent lies in bullshit.

It's like an act of nature, this guy, every other word out of his mouth is either a lie or an excuse, he does it as naturally as you and I would breathe in and out.

In his honor, I intend to use his name as a synonym for bullshit/talking crap.

So when I say "Don't kuljeet me" what I mean is "Don't bullshit me"

There I've done my bit to make you famous Kuljeet.

Zindabad Kuljeet.

May I Kuljeet people and not be Kuljeeted by people.

Holidays, Finally.

I am definitely in need of very serious R n R; Need to eat loads of fish to re grow brain cells, vast numbers of my brain cells have committed Hara-Kiri this semester in protest of my conformity.

I'm so ashamed, but ah well, selling out does have its perks though, sleep is very pleasant when you aren't stressed out, there's a certain peace and tranquility in saying screw it and throwing it over.

Therapeutic really.

I wonder how long it will be before I blog again, don't think I'd come here unless I need to rant or for a chore like this time.

Academic Writing Talk on the 16th April 2011

I work too hard for too little money.

I sincerely believe this, the problem is almost everybody else thinks I make a lot of money.

This perception is very inconvenient, I mean what can you do when you ask for for more money in contract negotiations and your bosses laugh because they think you're joking.

Anyway I stayed up most of the night writing and compiling this file, hope it helps.
